Guwahati: Rana Pogag, the fiance of Assam Police Sub Inspector Junmoni Rabhi has been shifted to Majuli from Nagaon, Assam.

Pogag was taken to the Garmur Police Station by the Majuli police on May 18 to interrogate him and Rabha's involvement in the cheating case.

According to reports, three FIRs have been filed in Majuli where Junmoni Rabha has been named and the FIRs have been lodged in two police stations namely Garmur and Kamalabari.

Pogag, who was in judicial custody, was brought to Majuli by the Garmur police for questioning and the police had to take special permission for this.

Reporters questioned Pogag in Majuli whether Junmoni Rabha was involved in the cases, to which he replied by saying 'no' before being escorted inside the police station.

Meanwhile, Pogag happens to be the prime accused in various cases of cheating and fraud and he was nabbed by the Nagaon police on May 8. He had pretended to be an ONGC PR official and got engaged to Junmoni Rabha last October.

Some unknown individuals had lodged an FIR at Garmur police Station in Majuli following Pogag's detention and the name of Sub Inspector Junmoni Rabhi was also mentioned in the FIR. 

An audio call which allegedly took place between Rabha and one of the businessmen went viral on social media, after which she was transferred to Kaliabor.

According to media reports, it had come to the fore that the two contractors from Majuli identified as Ram Avatar Sharma and Ajit Bora alleged that they had given Rs 50 Lakh and Rs 13.72 lakh respectively to one Rana Pogag in the presence of SI Junmoni Rabha.

Reports further claimed that money transaction records from Junmoni Rabha's account had come to light.
